Resumo: Neste artigo, a partir das análises de Hannah Arendt sobre o fenômeno totalitário, discutiremos as engrenagens da dominação total como tentativa radical de destruir a singularidade humana e o mundo comum. O objetivo, portanto, é investigar, até que ponto os governos totalitários tiveram êxito ou fracassaram na sua ambição de transformar o ser humano em um animal de reações previsíveis e, portanto, destituí-lo de suas capacidades políticas.

Abstract: In this article, based on Hannah Arendt’s analysis of the totalitarian phenomenon, we will discuss the gears of total domination as a radical attempt to destroy human singularity and the common world. The objective, therefore, is to investigate the extent to which totalitarian governments succeeded or failed in their ambition to transform the human being into an animal of predictable reactions and, therefore, deprive him of his political capacities.
