Abstract: This article addresses Feuerbach’s critique of the religions of his time and of the history of mankind, especially in The Essence of Christianity (1841), where the essence of both human beings and religion is discussed, in order to arrive at his alternative of building a new world. According to Feuerbach, a religion projects the essence of humanity onto the gods. It is because of this phenomenon that our author defends the human essence as an intermediary for the construction and implementation of a new religion, a new philosophy, a new policy. For him, there is no way to build a new society, which he calls antropoteism, without taking into account these factors, suppressing theology in anthropology, not denying religion itself, as Christianity does, but affirming it. Also being built in this society a relationship based on the community of human beings, acting in harmony and reciprocity of actions, based on love, rationality and will.
