Resumo: O presente artigo busca apresentar uma discussão inicial sobre a relação que se dá no pensamento de Hannah Arendt entre as categorias do comum e do singular. Defendo que Arendt consegue equacionar esta relação de modo muito diferente ao modo como a modernidade lida com a relação entre as dimensões da individualidade e da coletividade, sem priorizar uma das categorias Arendt trata a questão numa perspectiva de equilíbrio, onde a singularidade pressupõe a pluralidade e a pluralidade é complementar à singularidade. Defendemos a importância da categoria do mundo comum como base para se falar do equilíbrio entre o comum e o singular, e identificamos no processo de alienação do mundo um risco para a efetivação deste equilíbrio. No artigo buscamos apontar como este risco já identificado nas primeiras obras de Arendt, neste sentido exploramos a ideia de que para Arendt alguns elementos da alienação do mundo já se encontram presentes no processo de introspecção. O artigo explora esta questão a partir da obra “Rahel Varnhagen – A vida de uma judia alemã na época do Romantismo”, segunda obra escrita por Arendt.

Abstract: This present paper seeks an initial deliberation on the given relation to Hannah Arendt’s thought between the Common and Sigular categories. I advocate that Arendt manages to balance this relation in a much different way from the one Modernity deals regarding the connection between Individuality and Collectivity, without prioritizing one of them. We defend the importance of the Common World category as foundation to talk about the balance between the Common and the Singular, and we see a risk to such balance in the process of world alienation. In this paper we look at pointing how this risk already spotted in Arendt’s first Works, exploring the idea that for her some alienation elements are already presente in the process of Introspection. The paper also explores the same question from the work “Rahel Varnhagen – A vida de uma judia alemã na época do Romantismo”, the second one written by Arendt.
