 Resumo: A questão religiosa no continente africano é, de fato, um capítulo bastante especial e complexo, sendo o seu estudo necessário para quem pretende elaborar uma visão geral do dinamismo da vida nas sociedades africanas. Numa tentativa didática de facilitar a visualização desse mundo religioso, pode-se agrupar as religiões presentes em África em dois grandes grupos: de um lado, temos as religiões autóctones; de outro lado, as religiões levadas para lá, especialmente, o Islamismo e o Cristianismo. Ambas com suas características especiais e interesses próprios disputam terreno em solo africano. Um dos elementos disputados por ambas naquele continente é o poder. Cada vez mais a questão religiosa adquire maior relevância para a geopolítica africana, sendo a relação dos jovens Estados africanos com as religiões presentes naquele continente marcada por uma constante indecisão, isto é, na África pós-colonial, os Estados se aproximam das religiões que atuam em seus territórios, mas mantendo um distanciamento visto como necessário.

Abstract: The religious issue on the African continent is, in fact, a rather unique and complex chapter, but its study is necessary for those who wish to develop a general view of the dynamism of life in African societies. In an educational attempt to facilitate the visualization of this religious world, the religions present in Africa can be grouped into two large groups: on the one hand, we have the indigenous religions; on the other hand, the religions brought there, especially Islam and Christianity. Both, with their special characteristics and interests, compete for territory on African soil. One of the elements disputed by both on that continent is power. The religious issue is increasingly gaining greater relevance for African geopolitics, with the relationship of young African states with the religions present on that continent marked by constant indecision. That is, in post-colonial Africa, states are getting closer to the religions that operate in their territories, but maintaining a distance that is seen as necessary.
