  Resumo: O trabalho investigativo ora inaugurado se propõe elucidar o processo de construção do conceito de liberdade em Ockham a partir da obra, Brevilóquio sobre o principado tirânico. Com a presente investigação objetiva-se demonstrar como o filósofo frei Guilherme constrói o conceito de liberdade no curso de sua obra filosófica. Para tanto utilizaremos uma metodologia de análise bibliográfica e interpretação crítica, com foco no texto do Brevilóquio. Por resultado da investigação filosófica em questão, espera-se conseguir identificar, extrair e apresentar o processo de constituição do conceito de liberdade em Guilherme de Ockham em sua obra, assim como evidenciar a relevância acadêmica e prática para o contexto político e para os sujeitos de sua época e apontar a possibilidade de atualidade do tema para o tempo presente.

Abstract: This investigative work aims to elucidate the process of constructing the concept of freedom in Ockham based on his work, Brevilóquio sobre o principado tirânico (Brief Treatise on Tyrannical Principality). The present investigation aims to demonstrate how the philosopher Friar William constructs the concept of freedom in the course of his philosophical work. To this end, we will use a methodology of bibliographic analysis and critical interpretation, focusing on the text of the Brevilóquio. As a result of the philosophical investigation in question, we hope to identify, extract, and present the process of constituting the concept of freedom in William of Ockham’s work, as well as to highlight its academic and practical relevance to the political context and subjects of his time and point out the possibility of the theme’s relevance to the present day.
