RESUMO: O presente texto é resultado de um estudo sobre as noções de indivíduo, sociedade e cultura na era da industrialização a partir das obras Humano, demasiado humano, volumes I e II, e Aurora de Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche (1844-1900). A questão que motivou a pesquisa foi como a indústria, instrumento do poder econômico, reorientou as energias e as forças dos indivíduos europeus, especialmente aqueles do novo Estado alemão, para a produção em massa e quais foram os impactos dessa reorientação para a cultura. É apresentada uma reflexão que serve como um viés crítico paralelo às reflexões de cunho marxista. São abordadas concepções como aquelas de crise cultural, cultura da máquina e ação individual desenfreada, tendo em vista a leitura que o filósofo alemão fez de uma sociedade supostamente mecanicista e não voltada para a criação de indivíduos intelectualmente autônomos.

ABSTRACT: This text is the result of a study of the notions of individual, society and culture in times of industrialization from the lecture of the books Human, all too human, I and II, and Daybreak of Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche (1844-1900). The question that motivated the research was how the industry, the economic power instrument, redirected the energies and forces of European individuals, especially those of the new German state, to mass production and what were the impacts of this shift to the culture. It is presented a reflection that serves as a critical path parallel to the reflections based in the Marxism point of view. Conceptions as those of cultural crisis, the machine culture and unbridled individual action are considered in order to understand the perception that the German philosopher had about a supposedly mechanistic society and not focused on the creation of intellectually autonomous individuals.
