RESUMO: O objetivo deste artigo reside em refletir sobre o significado de aceitar e assumir a responsabilidade para com o futuro do Homem na Terra a partir da concepção jonasiana. No presente trabalho, as seguintes definições são adotadas: a responsabilidade para com o próximo significa reconhecer que as ações, mediadas pela tecnologia, possibilitam a diferença no futuro por serem ações que repercutem a longo prazo. Assumir responsabilidade significa também o esforço para descobrir algo positivo e agir conforme essas conclusões. Em Hans Jonas as respostas estão ligadas ao desenvolvimento humano e ambiental, de certo modo, por meio da responsabilidade. Baseado nestas duas afirmações de certeza, porque é a regra ou porque é legal, discuti-se o fato de que ser responsável pelo outro significa além do que saber se uma ação não é proibida pelo que ela é capaz de causar ao próximo. Simplesmente dizer às pessoas que devem seguir as normas sem levar em conta o resultado da sua ação, porque é legal, não significa ser responsável para Jonas.

ABSTRACT: The purpose of this article is to reflect about the meaning of accepting and taking the responsibility for the future of Man on Earth from the jonasian conception. In this work, the following definitions are adopted: the responsibility towards the next one means to recognize that the actions, mediated by the technology, make possible the difference in the future for being actions that have long term repercussions. Taking responsibility also means striving to discover something positive and act according to these conclusions. In Hans Jonas the answers are linked to human and environmental development, in a way, through responsibility. Based on these two assertions of certainty, because it is the rule or because it is legal, the fact that being responsible for the other means beyond knowing whether an action is forbidden by what it is capable of causing to others is discussed. Just telling people that they should follow the rules without taking into account the outcome of their action, because it is legal, does not mean being responsible to Jonas.
