Resumo: No presente texto abordamos a reflexão da filósofa alemã e judia Hannah Arendt a
fim de elucidar a importância do tema da revolução para a compreensão do conceito de
liberdade. Para tanto, aborda-se as reflexões de Arendt a partir da obra Sobre a revolução
destacando, sobretudo os conceitos de felicidade pública e instauração do novo. A presente
reflexão conclui seu movimento discursivo afirmando que através do tema da revolução, o
conceito de liberdade ganha um rosto mais explicito na obra de Arendt.

Abstract: In the present text we approach the reflection of the German-Jewish philosopher
Hannah Arendt in order to elucidate the importance of the theme of revolution for the
understanding of the concept of freedom. In order to do so, Arendt’s reflections from the work
On Revolution are discussed, especially the concepts of public happiness and the establishment
of the new. The present reflection concludes its discursive movement affirming that through
the theme of revolution, the concept of freedom gains a more explicit face in Arendt’s work.
