 RESUMO:O texto apresenta a glória como parâmetro político das figuras homéricas, na visão de Hannah Arendt como interprete do Homero político. O objetivo deste texto é elucidar, na figura do herói, a dignidade da política em seus tempos iniciais. A polis como espaço da palavra e da ação aparece no mundo grego, como lócus da imortalidade dos feitos heróicos, e a glória se relaciona com estes mesmos feitos pela grandeza que os irradia, tornando-se assim merecedores de serem cantados pela posteridade. Se antes a glória que garantia a imortalidade dos feitos era o grande tema do político, agora a vida e tudo que a envolve é a nossa única preocupação. Esperamos, ao investigar o tema da glória como denominadora do político, lançar luz sobre o seu real sentido, para iluminar a reflexão sobre a situação aviltante da política nos tempos hodiernos, da qual oculta o brilho da glória como denominador efetivo nesse espaço.

ABSTRACT: The glory is presented in this text as a political parameter of Homeric figures, under the vision of Hannah Arendt whose is the interpreter of Homero political attributes. The aim of this paper is to clarify, in the hero‘s role, the dignity of politics in the earlier times. Polis (the city-state in old Greece), a space for word and action, arises in the Greek world as the locus (the place) of immortality of the heroic deeds; and its glory is related with those same deeds through radiant greatness, which make them worthily to be sung by posterity. Sooner if the glory was the guarantee in order to preserve the immortality of the deeds was the most important subject between the politicians, now the life and everything that is related to it, is our only concern. Throughout this investigation about glory as denominator of the politician, we hope enlighten the real sense of this meaning to clear up the reflection about the nowadays political degrading situation, whose hides the shine glory as effective denominator in this role.
