Resumo: A posição ocupada por Nietzsche e Freud no período de transição do pensamento moderno para o contemporâneo, posição esta que os consolida como pensadores abissais e irradiadores da suspeita, predica-se pela promoção de minuciosos diagnósticos das instituições morais humanas cujos desvelamentos figuram como as „chagas abertas‟ de tais instituições. Dessa perspectiva, as noções de cultura e civilização são tratadas por esses autores, permitindo-nos entreolhar significativa convergência entre o discurso psicanalítico freudiano em O Mal Estar na Civilização e o prisma genealógico nietzschiano em Genealogia da Moral. Nos limites destas cosmovisões, analisamos intersecções e distanciamentos entre Nietzsche e Freud quando da apreciação das articulações entre a moral e o projeto civilizatório do homem ocidental.

Abstract: The position occupied by Nietzsche and Freud in the transitional period of modern thought to the contemporary, position that consolidates them as vast and irradiators thinkers of suspicion, is characterized by the promotion of detailed diagnosis of the human moral institutions whose resolutions figure as the „open wounds‟ of such institutions. From this perspective, the notions of culture and civilization are treated by these authors, allowing us to see significant convergence between the Freudian psychoanalytic discourse on The Malaise of Culture and the Nietzschean genealogical prism on Genealogy of Morals. Within the limits of these worldviews, we can analyze intersections and distances between Nietzsche and Freud as of the assessment of the joints between the moral and civilizing project of the Western man.
