Resumo: Almeja-se apresentar a leitura arendtiana da obra de Kafka, ressaltando sua originalidade quanto ao método interpretativo, à narrativa e à temática. O método interpretativo proposto por Arendt rejeita as inferências de cunho teológico ou psicanalítico. Quanto à narrativa, a autora enfatiza a singularidade do poeta que, contudo, não recorre a nenhuma técnica ou recurso literário inovador. Já a temática da ficção kafkiana apresenta um mundo em que todos devem haurir sua humanidade do exercício de uma função, ao passo que o herói kafkiano é o modelo do homem comum que não está em busca de privilégio, mas que busca apenas o mínimo que, na visão da autora, representa os direitos humanos.

Abstract: The aim of this work is to present the reading of Arendt on Kafka’s work, highlighting its originality about method of interpretation, the narrative and thematic. The interpretive method proposed by Arendt rejects the implications of theological or psychoanalytic slant. As for the narrative, the author emphasizes the uniqueness of the poet who, however, does not use any technique or literary innovator device. On the other hand the theme of Kafka´s fiction presents a world in which all should draw your humanity ofthe exercise of a function, while the Kafkaesque hero is the model of the common man who is not seeking privileges, but seeking only the minimumthat, at the point of view of the author, are the human rights.
