 Resumo: Apesar das diferenças que o conceito de amizade teve na tradição Ocidental, as definições de amizade apresentadas por Platão e Aristóteles são o pano de fundo a partir do qual as subsequentes análises do conceito de amizade foram compreendidas no Ocidente. Nesse sentido, nossos objetivos no presente artigo são: investigar como a amizade surge como um tópico para esses filósofos, mostrar que o enlace amistoso é consequência do modo humano de existir e esboçar o conceito de “inimigo objetivo”, em Origens do Totalitarismo de Hannah Arendt, como uma completa perversão do conceito de enlace amistoso na tradição Ocidental.

Abstract: Despite the differences that the concept of friendship had in Western tradition, friendship definitions presented by Plato and Aristotle are the backdrop against which subsequent treatments of the concept of friendship were understood in the Western. In this regard, our aim in the present article are to investigate how friendship emerges as a topic for these philosophers, to show that friendly bound is a result of human mode of existence, and to outline the concept of “objective enemy”, in The Origins of Totalitarianism by Hannah Arendt, as a complete perversion of the concept of friendly bound in the Western tradition.
