Resumo: O objetivo do texto é fazer uma reflexão sobre os temas da imigração e da xenofobia destacando aspectos antropológicos, políticos e filosóficos. A ascensão ou fortalecimento em nossa conjuntura de movimentos ultranacionalistas no campo político da direita e que se reivindicam, em alguns casos, como neonazistas justificam a relevância do tema para a atualidade. Mas o artigo não pretende tratar de algum caso específico: a intenção principal é apontar elementos iniciais e gerais, porém fundamentais para uma reflexão posterior de maior profundidade. Para tanto, o texto está dividido em duas partes: a primeira conceitua imigração e xenofobia a partir da etimologia dos termos para, em seguida, refletir sobre o deslocamento no espaço como condição animal e as especificidades humanas, que explicam as bases do que concebemos como xenofobia; a segunda parte está destinada a uma reflexão, utilizando o exemplo de Aristóteles em suas obras Política e na Ética a Nicômaco , que percebe na tradição filosófica tendências ao tratamento das diferenças étnicas e culturais como elementos fundantes de desigualdades sociais, justificando ou velando a dominação entre povos e culturas distintos.

Abstract: The purpose of the text is to reflect on the themes of immigration and xenophobia highlighting anthropological, political and philosophical aspects. The ascension or invigoration in our conjuncture of ultra-nationalist movements in the political field of the right and that they are demanded, in some cases, as neo-Nazi justify the relevance of the theme for the present time. But the article doesn’t intend to treat of some specific case: the main intention is to point initial and general, however fundamental elements for a subsequent reflection of larger depth. For so much, the text is divided in two parts: the first considers immigration and xenophobia starting from the etymology of the terms for, soon afterwards, to contemplate on the displacement in the space as animal condition and the human specificities, that explain the bases of what became pregnant as xenophobia; the second part is destined to a reflection, using Aristotle’s example in their works Politics and in the Ethics of Nicomachus, that notices in the tradition philosophical tendencies to the treatment of the ethnic and cultural differences as elements of social inequalities, justifying or veiling the dominance between people and different cultures.
