 Resumo: O trabalho a seguir visa apresentar a proposta de fundamentação cognitivista da moral avançada por Jürgen Habermas. Ele entende o núcleo racional da moral como constituído pela correção normativa, que é uma pretensão de validade epistêmica. Buscando fugir de uma concepção emotivista da moral, Habermas procura mostrar que a correção normativa exige um processo justificacional que envolve argumentos e razões. Revela-se importante nesse empreendimento apontar as continuidades e diferenças entre a pretensão de validade ligada aos enunciados descritivos (verdade) e a pretensão de validade ligada aos enunciados normativos (correção normativa), além de apontar para os papéis estruturais semelhantes que desempenham a postulação de um mundo objetivo e independente no discurso teórico e o mundo social no discurso prático. Por fim, Habermas tenta demonstrar que a necessidade de fundamentar racionalmente as escolhas morais está embutida na própria estrutura comunicativa do jogo de linguagem argumentativo.

Abstract: The following paper aims to present Jürgen Habermas defense of a cognitivistunderstand of moral. Moral‟s rational core, constituted by the normative correctness, requires we interpret it as an epistemic validity claim. The normative correctness, other than in emotivist interpretations of moral, puts in motion a justificacional process in which arguments and reasons take place. Habermas needs to show that there are continuities and differences between the descriptive validity claim (truth) and the normative validity claim (normative correctness), and to show the similar structural roles that the postulation of anobjective independent world in the theoretic discourse and the share of a social world in the practical discourse play. At last, Habermas tries to demonstrate that the necessity of a rational foundation of moral lays on the very communicative structures of the argumentative language game.
